Exercise 1.1 (Beginner): Assess your current team's position on the maturity spectrum (Levels 1-4). Write a one-paragraph justification for your assessment, citing specific evidence.
Exercise 1.2 (Intermediate): Identify three areas where your team is spending testing effort that is not proportional to risk. For each area, describe whether it is over-tested or under-tested relative to its business impact.
Exercise 1.3 (Advanced): Draft a one-page "case for change" document that explains to your engineering leadership why your team needs a formal test strategy. Use specific examples from your current project to illustrate the cost of not having one.
