API testing begins with understanding the system under test, and Postman is where that understanding starts. I use Postman not as a crutch but as an exploration tool -- importing OpenAPI specs, chaining requests to map authentication flows, and building data-driven tests to validate boundary conditions before investing in automation. This systematic exploration phase consistently reduces downstream automation rework by catching spec ambiguities early.
